General information to all applicants

Teacher Qualifications
All teachers are required to have a minimum of a Level 6 qualification (first university degree), and an initial teacher training qualification (TEFLI) considered valid by the British Council (CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent).

Safeguarding

The Leeds School of English accepts students under the age of 18. We therefore require all members of our staff to have a general knowledge of safeguarding issues, and expect applicants to be familiar with our Safeguarding Policy before submitting an application.

DBS and Police Checks

An appropriate Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate will be required prior to confirmation of appointment. Applicants will also be checked against the Barring List and the Prohibited List for Life.

A certificate of good conduct will be required from all countries where you have resided for at least six months in the past five years.

Gaps in CVs

All gaps in CVs must be explained satisfactorily.
